A peer is a person we identify with in some capacity.

In behavioral health, a peer is usually used to refer to someone who shares the experience of living with a disorder and/or addiction. A peer also offers their unique lived experience with mental health conditions to provide support focused on advocacy, education, mentoring, and motivation.

Trust and compatibility are extremely important factors.

Peer support is the process of giving and receiving encouragement and assistance to achieve long-term recovery.

Peer supporters offer emotional support, share knowledge and skills, provide practical (and Biblical) assistance, and connect people with resources, and opportunities. Peer supporters are a dynamic and growing group that continue to transform lives and systems.

Peer providers can play many roles in support for people living with psychiatric disorders and/or in addiction recovery. They are capable of facilitating education and support groups and working as a bridge linking people to services as they transition from hospitals or jails into the community. Peers also work one-on-one as role models, mentors, coaches and advocates.

Peers go by many names and can work in many different settings.

Why Peers?

We are an outreach; we are seeking partnership and sponsorship to move as seamlessly as possible.

We are here to support, encourage, love my neighbor in the process. Remember the story of the Good Samaritan? Others who were religious walked by the man on the street, who was robbed and beaten, but a traveler who came in contact with this man took time to bandage up his wounds, care for him, brought him to the inn on his donkey and then paid for all expenses.

We just want to be a Good Samaritans.

Prudent Peers Inc. aims to become a beacon of hope in life's challenging times. Working hard to create a safe, loving, nurturing space; we understand everyone needs someone. Sometimes crisis is unavoidable and we may be at different phases of life, but that's how we build. Vigor may come from the youth, while seasoned veterans may have wisdom and understanding. There is a reason certain warriors and/or survivors thrive, it's their people, their tribe, or their community who love, support and encourage them. We understand this concept and want to be that to anyone and everyone who comes here!

All the leaders, life coaches and contributors here will meet all members where they are at; and they want to foster a space that respects all choices and understands that not everyone is passionate about the same things. What ever you decide, please know that you are loved and cared for. This is hard for some to accept, but it's true. We don't want to leave anyone behind. If you're facing a loss of a loved one, battling an ailment, enduring pregnancy alone  will be starting support groups. If you or a loved one are facing hardships or if you need someone to talk to please reach out now!

Our Vision: To build a community where everyone knows we each have something to contribute! To have a space where those who need support can reach out without hesitation and those who love mentoring, sharing, teaching have the freedom and space to connect and be seen. Sometimes an individual will have a passion, talent, or skill that they want to share, but do not belong to an organization or not enough traffic to find out what they know. Sometimes we don't know what we don't know. So, whether you are an athlete, writer, artist, seamstress, fashion designer, truck driver, financial advisor, software or mechanical engineer, videographer, chef, baker, jewelry maker, hair stylist, nutritionist, licensed tradesperson and you want to teach others; we all have value!

As we keep learning and growing we should pass that knowledge along, we become stronger together! I believe that is how we thrive as a community!  We each can see a place where people who are struggling day-to-day to become bold, strengthened in their faith, building up others. Why? So the ripple effect happens and it's grows further and wider as we keep going! Why do we want to bring the hope of Christ to others, because the Lord has changed our lives' around.

We have several resources here! You can read our blogs, listen to the podcasts, join a group or register for a course; our elders and life coaches have been through their own experiences and want to share the things that set them free! We also encourage our members to think about getting active with their contributions to the community.  With the way things are going many are discouraged, hurting, broken, tired from their circumstances and feeling hopeless. Many feel cast aside, like they don't deserve another chance or like they are a burden. So, we hope to show you something different. We hope that others will see we have hearts after the Father, but more importantly that others will come to learn that no power in the sky above or in the earth below—nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord!

Our mission is to set up and bridge with other communities as the Father desires. One way we do that is through our online training and donation hubs. We offer various programs such as stewardship, discipleship, (prayer, meditation, biblical teaching, spiritual gifts) skills workshops, mentorship, financial assistance, counseling, and more.

We have a call-in center and a caring outreach as well; for those who are alone and have no one to talk to.  For those who want counseling, desire to learn a new skill or start up their own business. This is a new beginning and where we learn how to be interdependent. The body of Christ needs to come together.  We believe the church is the entire body of believers regardless of denomination, as such all are welcome; as well as those who have no particular religion or faith practice.

The mission of Prudent Peers Inc. is multifaceted and the reason being we do not want to just bless someone without giving them the tools to keep growing and maturing.  We could bring fish to the masses, but we also want to teach them how to fish!  Prudent Peers Inc. is seeking partnerships. Please note: we are not yet a 501 (c)3, but we are stewards and distribute funds according to the way the Lord sees fit.
